Hartford City Office
Our practice was founded in Hartford City, Indiana in 1894. After 100 years in the original office, the practice moved to their new office in 1997. The office is located convienently on the north side of town on Huggins Drive.

Preliminary Testing
Our skilled technicians will perform priliminary testing on patients before seeing the doctor. This include auto-refractive scans, color vision, depth perception testing, contrast sensitivity and peripheral vision tests.

Contact Lens Area
Our doctors work with chidlren, teenagers and adults of all ages who would benefit from contact lenses. They prescribe soft, soft toric, rigid gas permeables and customized lenses for all prescriptions. Our doctors specialize in fitting contacts for patients with special conditions like keratoconus and achromatopsia.

Electronic Medical Records
The Eye Associates Group practice has been using electronic medical records for over 6 years. Our practice uses the Compulink Eyecare Advantage software which was the first certified ophthalmic medical records program in the country. Electronic medical records allow all of our offices to be interconnected with each other and improves our efficiency in providing eyecare and managing the vision and eye health of our patients.

Examination Room
Our office has many examination rooms to accomodate patients. Our practice began using electronic medical records over six years ago. This has helped our practice become more efficient in patient care.

Wheelchair Accessible Exam Room
Our office was designed with wheelchair accessibilty in mind. We have a specialized examination room where a patient in a wheelchair does not have to transfer out of their chair to be properly examined. This is much more conveinent for our wheelchair patients.

Low Vision Examination Room
Our Hartford City office has a specially designed examination room for patients who have suffered a vision loss. Testing in this room allows the doctors to maximize the patient's vision when checking their current eyewear. This room is equiped with special low vision visual acuity charts and lighting to help the patient with vision loss.

Low Vision Technology
Our low vision examination room is equiped with all of the latest low vision devices to help patients including video magnifiers, high powered handheld magnifiers, microscopes, telescopes and bioptic systems. Our doctors also specialize in the rehabilitation of patients with side vision loss from stroke and head injury. Our Indianapolis and Fort Wayne offices are low vision clinics.

Fundus Photography Room
Our doctors specialize in the treatment and management of ocular diseases like glaucoma, macular degeneration, diabetic retinopathy, etc. They routinely use fundus photography to document retinal and optic nerve disorders in patients. It also is a great educational tool for the patient to be able to see what the doctor is seeing inside the eye.

Peripheral Visual Fields
Our practice uses state of the art automated visual field testing to monitor patients with glaucoma and other eye disorders.

Ocular Coherence Tomography (OCT)
Our doctors use a Zeiss Cirrus OCT to look for signs of nerve fiber loss in glaucoma as well as retinal conditions like macular degeneration, diabetic retinopathy and other conditions. This test analyzes the optic nerve and retina and gives three dimensional diagrams based on an almost cellular level. It has become an invaluable tool for looking at macular degerations patients who may have swellinf or bleeding in their maculas as well as diabetics with hemorrhaging near the macula. The test also looks at the nerve fiber layer of the optic nerve to evaluate for optic nerve disorder and changes in glaucoma.
